Welcome

WELCOME

Welcome from the President and CEO,

The Reverend Canon Howard K. Williams, D. Min.

The Brooklyn Health Equity Foundation (BHE Foundation) is honored to have you visit this site and invites you to partner with us to advance health equity in Brooklyn.

Health equity for us means ensuring access to high quality, culturally competent, primary preventive, and tertiary care to  all Brooklyn residents.  We want to ensure that there are enough competent providers to meet the diverse needs of Brooklyn, the largest and most populous borough in New York City.

Brooklyn faces many challenges that impact on its resident’s overall health and wellbeing, so we invest in programs and services to promote health equity and reduce health care disparities. These programs can be hospital based, community based public health prevention efforts, and advocacy efforts to tackle long term institutional and social changes.

The BHE Foundation supports organizations and community groups/institutions by awarding programmatic grants of $2,000 to $20,000.

Please find more information and an application form in the GRANTS section in the drop-down menu.

We also welcome your gifts and comments.

Sincerely,

Howard K. Williams
